Covert Driver Assessments

IBPTS “Covert Driver Assessments” provide operators with an essential management tool that clearly indentifies drivers’ development needs. IBPTS  assessors covertly monitor drivers to a consistent standard, which allows easy identification of drivers’ strengths, weaknesses and to set baseline targets standards in performance and operations, giving the opportunity to monitor small changes in driver quality across the whole of the operational area.

IBPTS can conduct covert assessments randomly or targeted at depots, a specific route or even individual drivers.

Unlike our competitors IBPTS collates all the data from the assessments to produce quick reference easy to read reports to the operators’ specification.

Driver Mentoring

IBPTS "Driver Mentors" travel as an ordinary passenger when they board the bus to assess the driver's driving skills and "Customer Service" performance, for the entire duration of the journey from terminus to terminus. At the terminus the IBPTS "Driver Mentor" introduce themselves to the driver, discuss their performance strenghts, weaknesses and deliver advice on improving their performance to comply with the operator's standards.

Mentoring assessments can either be conducted randomly or targeted at depots or even individual drivers.

Driver monitoring reduces accidents and insurance claims and has proved to be a cost-effective training initiative.

Service Delivery Monitoring

 IBPTS recognise that reliability and punctuality is the most important factor of operating a successful and profitable bus route but many operators are falling into the trap of the enforcement of high penalties of not operating services within the 6-minute margin of the "Practice Direction 4 Bus Standards". By us monitoring problem routes and travelling on particular journeys, we can identify areas of perceptive operation erosion, together with the solutions to resolve them.
